Beginner's Guide: Where to Start
New to Universal Tower Defense X? It mixes classic tower defense with gacha unit collection, trait rerolling, relics, and evolution. This guide covers what to do first and how to spend your resources so you progress fast without wasting materials.
Your First Steps
Redeem codes immediately
Before anything else, grab the free Trait Rerolls and Gems from our codes page. They give you a huge early head start.
Play through early Story Mode
Clear the opening stages to unlock summons, the shop, and core systems, and to earn your first Gems for pulling units.
Summon and build one carry
Roll on the banner and focus everything on a single strong DPS rather than spreading upgrades thin. Check the tier list first.
Should You Reroll?
Rerolling means making fresh accounts to fish for a top unit or trait on your first pulls. It's worth a few minutes if you want to start with an S+ carry, but it isn't required — the free units and codes are generous enough to clear early content without it.
Resource Priorities
| Priority | Spend on | Why |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Trait Rerolls on your main DPS | The biggest single power boost early on. |
| 2 | Upgrading one carry | Most content is gated by your damage dealer. |
| 3 | A support + a farm unit | Buffs and economy let your carry do more. |
| 4 | Relics & relic rerolls | Push your carry's stats once the basics are set. |
| 5 | Evolution materials | Evolve only units you'll keep long term. |
